Privacy
Perch runs on your Mac. It has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and Innov8ive Labs, LLC does not receive anything about how you use it.
What stays on your Mac
- Coding agent status. Hooks installed into your agents write session state to a file on your Mac, and Perch reads it there.
- Notes, tasks, clipboard history, the file shelf, timers and settings.
- Calendar events and reminders, read through macOS with your permission and never copied anywhere.
- Token counts, read from your agents' local session files.
What leaves your Mac, and why
- Weather: a location rounded to two decimal places (about a kilometre), or the city you type, goes to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast.
- Lyrics: the title, artist and album of the song playing go to LRCLIB, only while the Now Playing section is open and lyrics are switched on.
- Code hosting: if you add a GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket token, Perch sends it only to that provider to list your pull requests. Tokens are stored in your Keychain.
- Translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework.
- Purchases: in the App Store version, Apple handles payment. Buying directly at perch.i8l.tech goes through Stripe, which receives your email and payment details, and we keep your email and order number so we can send and recover your license key.
Permissions
Perch asks for Calendar, Reminders, Location, Bluetooth, Accessibility or Full Disk Access only when you switch on a feature that needs it, and only from a button you press. Every feature works without the ones it does not need.
